Beginning Techniques in Stumpwork - 3 June 2012
This will be a short, day-long introduction to the delightful world of stumpwork embroidery. After a brief slide presentation about the history of this art, we will explore a variety of traditional techniques through small learning samples. Contemporary work will be shown for inspiration. Taught at the Gail Harker Creative Studies Center.
Papermaking: Pulp to Portfolio - 8 -10 June and 28-29 July 2012
Come learn the basics of papermaking in this short course over two sessions. Skills learned will include processing garden plants into paper pulp, basic sheet forming, decorative skills such as lamination, inclusions, and casting, and a short session to create a hand-made book for holding your samples. Taught at the Gail Harker Creative Studies Center.
